Post Production
As part of my HNC, I chose Post Production as my graded unit. I am an avid tv watcher and I love films, so naturally I am attracted to the role of Sound Design in media. As a creative person with an ear for detail, I would really thrive in this line of work. It has been incredible to learn industry techniques such as creating story boards, cue sheets and sound librarys, chequerboarding, using markers, foley collection and to learn new tricks and essential shortcuts on Pro Tools specific to Post Production. One of my projects I have been working on so far this year is listed below, with more to come soon.

Post Production Project - INVASIONS
This was my first Sound Design project, requiring me to design sound from scratch for a 3 minute animated film clip. The video had a wide range of sound FX, foley and ambience to challenge me and push me to start thinking and working efficiently and creatively.
I collected all sounds myself with my Zoom H2n recorder and composed my own music and FX on Pro Tools. I organised and developed a sound library that I can now refer to in future projects. I am a bit of a nerd when it comes to organisation, so I particularly enjoyed this part of the project! I also really enjoyed processing my individual pieces of audio to fit the environment in any given scene, adding such effects as reverb and EQ to make the sounds feel as real as possible throughout the film sequence.
You can view this project on my YouTube channel.
This clip is from the film Invasions (2009) and I have used the sequence solely for educational purposes as part of my HNC (Sound Production).
